2003 - Though this is by no means the best of Clarence White's guitar work, or even necessarily the best of his session work from 1966-1968, it's an important document of no less than 26 rare tracks predating his joining the Byrds. These recordings, often but not always released on the Bakersfield International label (in fact a few were previously unreleased), find White perfecting his transition to the electric guitar and country-rock from bluegrass. Featuring previously unknown electrified demos by The Kentucky Colonels. 26 tracks plus a 20-page booklet featuring many rare photos & extensive liner notes.

2003 - A lovely collection of songs beautifully sung & played by this Indiana band led by Tony Holt. Disciples of the Boys From Indiana, the band features almost all new material, but they play in a classic first generation style. The current band is aided by the addition of David Long, who plays a fine Monroe-style mandolin. Vocally & instrumentally the arrangements are smooth but solid, with Tony Holt’s marvelous, distinctive voice leading the way. His treatment of THE WAY I AM, FOREVER TRUE, JEREMIAH CALLAHAN’S MEDICINE SHOW and I’M NOT THE DRIFTER are really wonderful. Though the group continues to pick up many loyal new fans, the low-key Wildwood Valley Boys probably remain one of the best-kept secrets in Bluegrass. Great stuff! 1999 - The Wildwood Valley Boys is a band born from the Boys From Indiana, both literally and musically. Tony & Jeff Holt, and Harlan Gabbard dedicated this album to their fathers, Aubrey, Jerry, and Tom Holt and Harley Gabbard, the men who formed the Boys From Indiana. Vocal polish and emotional rawness are the highlights of this, the first album by the Wildwood Valley Boys. 2009 - One of the greatest singers in the history of Bluegrass and Country music is beautifully represented here in this 14 song collection on which Mac is backed by the excellent picking of three members of the Shenandoah Cutups (Tater Tate, Billy Edwards, and John Palmer), plus Buddy Griffin (2nd fiddle), Jeff Terflinger (mandolin) and Tommy Boyd (dobro on 6 tracks). The original recordings were made in the mid 1970s for the Cincinnati based Vetco label, to make up for the absence of Wiseman’s wonderful Dot recordings of the 1950s (which were long out of print at the time).

2015 - These are the kind of high-level recording sessions any producer would put together if they had these contacts. Besides Taylor on harmony vocals, plus country legend Gill and modern day blues master Keb’ Mo’ singing and playing guitar, her dream team includes great session and road musicians she’s worked with over her career: dobro star Jerry Douglas, Newgrass-founding mandolinist Sam Bush, former Newgrass vocalist and current Doobie Brother John Cowan, and multi-award winning musician Mac McAnally. 

2015 - eine geschmacksintensive Mischung aus Bluegrass, Folk und Country, die sich um Gary Nichols‘ gefühlvolle Stimme und die geschickten Fähigkeiten der Geigerin Tammy Rogers und des Banjo-Spielers Richard Bailey dreht. 2023 - Die Infamous Stringdusters verleihen jedem Lied ihren eigenen stimmlichen Stempel und betonen ihre straffe Harmonie, insbesondere im schnellen „Will You Be Lonesome Too?“ Fiddler Jeremy Garrett sagt in den Künstlernotizen zum Album, dass er „diesen Song im Laufe meines Lebens eine Million Mal gehört“ habe und dass er bei der Aufnahme besonders Lester Flatts Gesang und Earl Scruggs‘ treibendes Banjo bewundert habe…

2023 - Die GRAMMY- und IBMA-Award-Gewinner The Steeldrivers mit Richard Bailey am Banjo, Tammy Rogers an der Geige, Mike Fleming am Bass, Brent Truitt an der Mandoline und Matt Dame an der Gitarre definiert Bluegrass-Musik weiterhin neu und stellt erfahrene Musikalität und nahtlose, gesangliche Harmonien zur Schau, die vertraut und doch frisch sind. Das Quintett kombiniert Country-, Soul- und Blues-Stile für sein Gospel-Debüt “Tougher Than Nails“ mit den Klassikern wie  „Amazing Grace“, „Farther Along“ sowie den neuen Songs „Magdalene“ und „At the River“…!!!

2024 - Chatham County Line ist seit über zwei Jahrzehnten ein fester Bestandteil der Roots-Musik. Dave Wilson (Gesang, Gitarren, Mundharmonika, Banjo); John Teer (Mandoline, Geige, Gitarren, Gesang); und Greg Readling (Bass, Pedal Steel, Klavier, Gesang) bauten sich mit ihrer genreübergreifenden Live-Show eine treue Anhängerschaft auf, bevor sie 2003 mit ihrem selbstbetitelten Debüt den internationalen Durchbruch schafften. Für eine Band, die 15 Jahre lang mit einem einzigen Mikrofon auftrat, hat CCL mit “Hiyo“ neue Inspiration in allen Klängen gefunden, die die Welt zu bieten hat…( die Welt ist im Moment wirklich offen für das, was Volksmusik ausmacht).

2024 - Am 23. Januar 2020 betraten Watchhouse aus North Carolina Emily Frantz (Geige/Gesang) und Andrew Marlin (Mandoline/Gesang), damals noch unter dem Namen Mandolin Orange bekannt, die Bühne eines der bekanntesten Veranstaltungsorte in Austin, Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater, um ihr sechstes Album Tides of a Teardrop vorzustellen. Mandolin Orange / Watchhouse wurde 2009 in Chapel Hill, NC, gegründet und hat bereits sechs Alben mit original amerikanischer Roots-Musik veröffentlicht…

2014 - “The Game“ verfügt über die beneidenswerte Auszeichnung, mindestens einen neuen Song von jedem Bandmitglied zu haben, und ist wohl die endgültige Destillation der kollektiven Identität von Blue Highway, einer Identität, die man sofort erkennt… Blue Highway baut weiterhin auf seinem aufregenden Fundament auf und “The Game“ ist möglicherweise das bisher beste Album. Für eine Band mit so viel Geschichte und so viel Kreativität sagt das viel aus.

2011 - Diese CD lehrt eine weitere wertvolle Lektion. Während es bei manchen Bands den Anschein hat, als würden sie das Personal genauso oft wechseln wie die Besetzung, sind Blue Highway seit 17 Jahren die gleichen fünf Jungs. Der Trick besteht natürlich darin, nach all den Jahren und all den Kilometern auf der Straße frisch zu bleiben. Insgesamt ist das Projekt großartig. Fans von Blue Highway werden sich hier wie zu Hause fühlen. Und Neulinge werden bald in diese Richtung gehen.
