All four made the US Country charts producing the hits ‘Find Out What’s Happening’, ‘(Margie’s At) The Lincoln Park Inn’, ‘Ride Me Down Easy’ and ‘You Know Who’ Digitally remastered and slipcased, and with anew notes.

2020 - Like the Phoenix from ancient Greek folklore, which gains new life by rising from the ashes of the creature that was before him, Bobby Bare’s album Great American Saturday Night, with all songs written by Shel Silverstein, has come alive after 42 years of living in a record company vault. While the album that was recorded in 1978 didn’t necessarily disintegrate into ashes, it did disappear from the memories of everyone except Bobby Bare, who knew the songs were timeless… 13 songs: 11 written by Shel Silverstein except No. 5 and 10 written by Silverstein with Fred Koller

These recordings come from a time when Bare changed direction away from the pure country and embraced contemporary writers such as Townes Van Zandt, J.J. Cale and Guy Clark. ‘Sleeper’ contains contributions from Rodney Crowell and rearranged versions of the Stones’ THE LAST TIME and the Byrds’ I’LL FEEL A WHOLE LOT BETTER
